CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

BEAR HANDLON

Bear played linebacker at Yale University, and after graduation, he would go on to compete at the CrossFit Games in 2013. As a serial entrepreneur, Bear co-founded Born Primitive in Spring of 2014, just months before he joined the Navy. Bear would go on to serve nearly 8 years as a Navy SEAL Officer while he and Mallory built Born Primitive. In less than 10 years, the business grew from the garage to becoming a 9-figure business without raising any outside capital.

CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER

MALLORY RILEY

Mallory graduated from the top of her class at Indiana University with a degree in Dental Hygiene, but quickly pivoted to co-found Born Primitive. As a self taught entrepreneur and avid CrossFitter, Mallory is responsible for the launch of the women’s performance line in the early years of Born Primitive, which catapulted the business into hyper growth mode. Mallory has been instrumental in driving the business forward, and in many instances, she was running the company while Bear was serving his country in the SEAL teams.
